On Saturday 27th October 2018 Fullerians 2nd XV faced a strong opposition against in Hertford 3rd XV. This has always been a hard fought game in the past so both teams had prepared during the week for another tough fixture.
Fullerians started well with some great structure and phases of play and not long after took the lead with some great backs moves to score under the posts. Myles Toon was outstanding marshaling the team from fly half all game and making sure Fullerians stuck to what they do best. Hertford started to struggle with discipline and gave away more and more penalties which Fullerians decided to take advantage of on many occasions.
No8 Matthew Bunce kept a cool head as captain of Fullerians and made sure his team stayed on the correct side of the referee which eventually led to more and more tries due to lack of discipline from Hertford. Fullerians played some lovely expansive rugby with Curtis Woodham and Nathan Mann scoring a brace each.
During half time the Fullerians coaching staff of Charlotte Fredrickson and Gavin Jakeman gave the team a few key points to work on and improve to make the score sheet even more in there favour. The team took these points on board and it showed with more tries coming from all areas of the pitch.
Fullerians 2nd team played fantastic and everyone walked off the pitch with a smile on there face despite it being a very cold day of rugby. The final score was Fullerians 67 - 0 Hertford. Happy days :)
