Last week our Director of Rugby and two of our age-grade coaches had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Rugby Football Union’s flagship England Rugby Mentoring Award course at the iconic Twickenham Stadium — complete with a behind-the-scenes stadium tour.
The course is designed to develop the mentoring skills of those working to support and develop coaches, match officials and volunteers within their own rugby environments. It focuses on understanding how people learn, building effective mentoring relationships, and helping individuals improve their behaviours and coaching practice within the game.
By strengthening these skills step by step, the programme aims to create meaningful and lasting impact. As knowledge and experience are shared from mentor to mentor, it helps build a strong network of skilled and supportive people across the game — ultimately benefiting players, coaches and clubs at every level.
We look forward to bringing these ideas and approaches back into the club as we continue to support the development of our coaches and volunteers.
