The second half saw the home team take control with expert game management from Mae Foy and captain Laurel Stockwell who along with winger Gabby Selvey had been representing Englands Deaf Women only 24 hours before. The home team dominated the forwards battle with immense tackling from Nell Goodair and Beth Stevens.
At the final whistle – Fullerians were comfortable winners with a late solo try by Kayla Bannister running the entire length of the pitch.
Set up in the 2019 season the Furies as they are known have developed into a significant section of the rugby club offering a welcome to players of all standards.
Fullerians Director of Rugby Spencer Craze was full of praise “The women thoroughly deserve their league win and thanks should go to the coaching team and squad. They are an integral part of the club going forward”.
Captain Laurel Stockwell was equally generous in her post match comments. “We are a great group, and this win means everything to us all. Looking forward to resting the body as it’s been a long season”
