Fullerians started their centenary celebrations in style over the weekend. The club hosted a family fun day at the Cassiobury location. Hundreds of people flocked to enjoy a fantastic day and a whole host of activities.

From face painting to full scale dunking of your favourite coach the club really excelled itself making sure everyone had fun.

Representatives from all the local emergency services provided an impressive demonstration of their vehicles and sirens could be heard from miles away and the Police gave a fantastic demonstration of their crime fighting dogs. We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of the city of Watford Peter Taylor.

It was 100 years ago that the Old Fullerians Association was formed by the pupils of the Watford boys grammar school and the club became fully open to all in 1965.

A warm Saturday afternoon saw rugby players of all ages play some pretty competitive touch rugby. A non-contact version of rugby which is available for everyone to try no matter age, size or gender.

Bouncy castles and some fine food and drink were available and the family day has already been booked again for next year. The event couldn't have taken place without the un-wavering focus and dedication of our very own Jules Goodair, Chair of Junior Rugby - who persuaded and cajoled a merry band of volunteers to put the show on the road - HUGE congratulations and thanks to all involved.

This event is one of several celebrations planned for the centenary including a star studded lunch on November 19th at Smith & Wollensky with guests including England World Cup winners Josh Lewsey a Watford Grammar old boy and world class No.9 Kyran Bracken. Buy your tickets here
