The RFU hosted at Burton on Trent the U18s Girls PDG Festival on Wednesday 16th April that welcomed the 9 centres from around the Country. With a number of girls involved in the U18s Girls 6Nations tournament, it meant the PDG Festival hosted around 250 of the top girls playing at their age groups in the country.
As previously shared, each centre is named after a famous player and Hertfordshire, along with Middlesex, Eastern Counties and Essex all form the Maggie Alphonsi Squad.
We have in the squad Abi Edwards, Amelia Tugwell-Fox and Georgie Christophorou, who are all in their first season of U18s rugby. They have trained hard all season and this was a final opportunity to showcase their skills. The squad had 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.
All three girls played their parts and we hope this will continue their development next season by making the squad again.
