This week, coaches from four different age groups across Fullerians RFC joined coaches from clubs including Letchworth, Chess Valley, Watford, Tring and Harrow for an excellent ABCD Skills coaching evening hosted by Fullerians RFC.
Led by renowned coach developer Dan Cottrell, the session focused on making the core skills of Attack, Ball Handling, Carry and Defence (the ABCDs) simple, practical and age-appropriate. Coaches took part in a range of hands-on activities covering game-based learning, session design, attacking and defensive principles, and contact skills that can be immediately applied on training nights.
The evening received outstanding feedback from attendees, with one coach describing it as “the best rugby course I’ve attended in the last nine years”, while another said it provided genuine support to overcome real coaching challenges rather than delivering an “off-the-shelf” coaching course.
A huge thank you to Dan Cottrell for delivering an engaging and inspiring session that will benefit our players and coaches throughout the season.
