After a very kind invite to Datchworth, we were pleased to see a great turn out by the Under 6 boys and parents at their very first away, non-competitive fixture.

A cold wind met us at the pitches, but all the boys were eager to get going and showed no nervousness at the thought of their first game. After a short game of bulldog the boys were split in to two teams to take on Datchworth. To the delight and considerable surprise of all the Coaches, Fullers under 6’s took to the game situation like old pro’s, showing great discipline (being refereed properly for the first time) and skill, both teams surprised their opponents with strong running and crisp passing. Defence and tagging was also of a high standard.

The main highlight of the morning though were the smiles and enthusiasm for playing the game that were shown throughout the session.

Although the game was non-competitive, I am happy to say that the boys came out shining!

Well done to the Under 6’s for a great start to their playing careers, the Coaches are in no doubt we have a talented bunch, and a lot to work with.
