Stevenage kicked off into the wind, and were immediately on the back foot where they remained for long periods of the game. Whilst the scoreline at the end was convincing in its margin of 33-3 there was a lot of scrappy disjointed play by both sides, with plenty to focus on ahead of our last match.
At no stage in the game where we seriously threatened, in fact Stevenage took the option to take 3 points after a period of pressure rather than go for the try.
Our scores came from Keegan who powered over for the first, Luke who had a stormer in midfield who got the last try, which was the only one not converted by Alex who had his kicking boots on… and he had preceeded it with a barnstorming run up the left side for his first. With Paddy and Aidan scoring good tries from sound forward play it made the result conclusive.
What the result means is that we WILL finish above Harrow for the first time in 3 years, irrespective of the outcome of the final match against Hitchin.. and its about time we did!
So onwards for the finale, against the long time league unbeaten side who have, at time of writing, just lost to Tring….
It is out with the calculators now!!!
Bring on Hitchin
