Having only lost once this season Ealing must of been confident coming into the game but Fullers threw everything they had at them and should have come away with even more than the losing bonus point.

There was tonnes of possession and great defence as Fullers went 14-0 up with tries from Dan Evans and Liam Mann, Evans slotting both conversion in very blustery conditions. An extremely cagey affair for the first 20 minutes or so with plenty of knock ons owing to the ‘bar of soap’ the guys were playing with.

Evans collected a nice pass from Dan Anderson, who lost his opposition number round the back of the scrum, and popped it up nicely for Evans and he crashed through the Ealing defence on 22 minutes and coolly converted his own try calculating the wind really well. For his try Mann found himself in acres of space on the left hand side and ran in from 30 yards to dot down giving Evans a slightly easier angle for the kick.

But it was Ealing who took the win with a couple of well worked tries of their own either side of half time.

On debut Will Burrows was sent to the bin for his second high tackle in the game and
John Barson was also sent to cool down for 10 minutes shortly afterwards with a very dominant Ealing scrum ending with the referee awarding a penalty try.

Fullerians losing run now extends to 6 going into a rest week before 3 important games in December against Chiswick, Hackney and Brunel.

Head coach Tom Courtney said “I was really impressed with the showing from all 18 lads today, we really took the game to Ealing and should of come away with more, but unfortunately that’s rugby”
