Coming off the back of a record defeat the weekend before Fullerians knew they had to bounce back in style and they did just that, securing a bonus point in double quick time with tries from Myles Toon and a double brace from Oscar Adams and skipper Liam Boyd.
It was youngster Adams who opened his account with the first of the afternoon on 5 minutes with some neat footwork and sheer strength crashing over from a couple of meters out following a period of dominance from the kick off, Toon couldn’t convert.
Shortly afterwards Toon collected a lovely offload from Liam Mann and this time he converted his own try for the extras with ease. Toon hit a lovely penalty kick to extend the lead before Captain Boyd, playing in his 250th game for the club, was in fine form again as he went over a following another period of dominance, this time a brilliant rolling maul allowed Boyd to peel off and crash through two defenders setting up another easy kick for Toon to convert.
A concerning couple of injuries occurred in quick succession with Jack Hobbs coming off with an ankle knock to be replaced by Jonny Bywater and shortly after debutant Jared Walsh dislocated his finger to be replaced by 18 year old fellow debutant Charlie Cockerell.
Adams got his second of the afternoon securing the bonus point inside 30 minutes with a brilliant line out to maul move from the 22 with the young hooker scoring after a very strong rumble up field, Toon missed the difficult conversion and Fullers held on to a 27-0 lead into half time.
The second half was a different story, however Boyd did go over for his 5th try of the season a few minutes after the restart and Toon converted again giving a comfortable 34-0 lead.
Credit to Datchworth showing determination to not be nilled they came back in to the game on 60 minutes with a short ranged effort which was converted, then Fullers found themselves down to 13 as Sam Mullins and replacement WIll Smith were sent to the bin to cool down for separate incidents a minute or so apart, Datchworth scored and converted again.
With the sin bins completed and returning to play, Fullers went in search of another try but just didn’t have time to do it as the referee blew for full time with the game ending 34-14.
