This week Fullerians welcomed London Cornish to Coningesby Drive looking to bounce back from the defeat away last time out and continued the fine home form but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.
In a cagey first half both sides cancelled out almost all of each others efforts with Cornish taking the lead on 15 minutes with the conversion missed wide.
Fullers captain Matchett missed a penalty ten minutes later just before Cornish increased the lead with a slotted penalty of their own. It was on the half hour mark that wing Ryan Lewis collected a nice pass out wide to score in the corner, this time Matchett kicked the conversion beautifully.
Half time 7-8
Another twenty minutes of toe to toe action endured after the break when Cornish stretched the lead with a well worked effort to score and convert, but Fullers came straight back and George Harvey crossed the line following an excellent line out 5 metres off the line, Matchett couldn’t add the extras.
A period stopped play due to the referee taking a knock disrupted the Fullers attack and Cornish found their top gear and ran in another two unanswered tries to deservedly win the game earning a bonus point.
Fullers now drop into the bottom half of the table having lost 4 and won 3 this season.
