Fullers travelled to Greenford for their first game in 2023 having not played for four weeks over the Christmas period due to two games being postponed due to the cold weather spell we had in mid December.
The home side had a score to settle following their visit to Fullerians earlier in the season scuppered their unbeaten record when Fullers earnt a well deserved 19-17 victory, add that to the 36-37 Fullers win here just over a year ago and the 22-26 defeat last season at Coningesby Drive the game was billed to be a cracker.
In another bruising and physical encounter OP's took the lead after a cagey first 10 minutes when after a short period of crash ball their big bag rower twisted and nicely turned to reach of the tryline slap bang middle of the posts, easy conversion slotted
Skipper Ben Matchett slotted a penatly from 30 metres out immediately after the restart when the home side were judged to of been holding on and that was the last time Fullers were to get on the scoresheet.
Op's got their second of the game when their winger scored a really good try on the left hand side which wasn't converted. A few minutes later Fullers fullback James Maher was shown a yellow card for apparently not releasing. The whistle goes for half time with the score 12-3.
OP's scored two more tries to earn a bonus point victory with a try at either end of the half with both conversions giving them a well deserved win and move back to second place in the league.
As for Fullers, they slip back to 9th and are 10 points clear the relegation battle with a game in hand. Up next Fullerians host league leaders Hammersmith & Fulham in the 2pm kick off at Coningesby Drive next Saturday.
Gary Wall man of the match this week is Sean Deller.
