London 1 North
Fullerians played Amersham & Chiltern (A&C) which was a very competitive game in the first half but Fullers faded away in the second. In the early exchanges Fullers pushed and pinned A&C into their 22 but got isolated in the tackle and penalised for holding on. A couple of chances went missing in the early part of the half but it was A&C who scored first with a converted try, after Fullers were playing too much rugby in their own 22.
The visitors added a penalty to extend their lead as Fullers were caught offside.
Fullers weren’t helped as hooker Drew Horne came off in the first half with a knee injury as did prop Matt Bushell. However, Fullers scrum still dominated the match but could not quite capitalised on this superiority
In the second half Fullers again started the brighter and at only 10-0 down it was all to play for but it just did not happen for the home side. Things went from bad to worse as the referee sinbinned two Fullers players in the half as decisions went against them.
A&C quite rightly cashed in on the numerical advantage to win the game with a bonus point.
“We were competitive in the first half but fell away in the second and allowed Amersham to dominate the game. When you are down on your luck 50/50 decisions never go your way and the guys heads dropped. We have a week off but need to pick ourselves up for our next game away to Southend.” commented Fullerians head coach Rich Hoskins.
