New season 2017-18 - new players always welcome!

New season 2018-19 - new players always welcome!

Welcome to the Fullerians U11s for the 2018-19

This Squad is for children who turn 11 years old after the beginning of September 2018. Usually, this means primary school Year 6. The season starts on Sunday 2nd September 2018 and will play through to the end of April 2019 and we will be once again be looking to go tour.

The coaching staffing are made up of players and parents alike. We have 9 coaches in this age group. All the coaches have children in the squad.

In keeping with all Hertfordshire rugby clubs, we play under the RFU's 'New Rules of Play' for Under 11s which is a deliberately child-centric approach to the game. It means introducing children to this great game though a staged approach to learning the skills they will then use for the rest of their playing days (and the social skills and friendships that will help them throughout life). In playing terms it means tackling (carefully coached) and the 'Mini' versions of scrums, rucks and mauls. There are no line-outs. This season tactical kicking is introduced to the kids for the first time.

At Fullers U11s, we are passionate about what we do, but what we do is not about winning matches at all costs. Our goal is to bring all children into the wonderful world of Mini Rugby, and to allow them to experience the discipline, fellowship, fun and excitement to be had. In this way, a cohesive, happy and (hopefully) successful squad will develop over the long term.

Every child has a place in Mini Rugby.
Please bring boots, a gumshield and a smile on your face.

If you are new to Rugby and interested in joining a club, you are very welcome at Fullerians. We pride ourselves on having fun and warmly integrating new members. Please arrive early and make yourself known to the coaches: they should all be very obvious!

The coaches will be at the club from 0930hrs. Please arrive in plenty of time to start training promptly at 1000hrs.
We will finish at approx 1130hrs, though in keeping with fine rugby traditions (and to support the club) we'd like every session to end with as many of us as possible heading to the clubhouse for a drink and something to eat!

You will need to register at the clubhouse in the first 3 weeks. This will include payment and complete the required paperwork including head injury form notice.
You will need to ensure you are registered on the website to stay in touch with age group communications. It's a very good way to find out what's going on across the whole club as well as for the U11 team.

Personal RESPONSIBILITIES to the club
As usual at some point during the season we will all be required to volunteer and participate in fundraising, kitchen and car parking duties. Please step forward swiftly and make yourself available to help support the club and the person organising the activity.
