On a bitterly cold, wet and very muddy morning, Fuller's B's put in a decent performance against a fairly strong Tring side. The pitch resembled the Somme (as Steve poetically eluded to in his report) and was probably Technically unplayable - not a blade of grass in sight.
Fresh from their impressive performance against Hitchin the boys started well, despite going down a couple of tries came back to even up the score. 2-2 at half time
Unfortunately once Tring went ahead again in the second half Fullers let the heads drop and on occasion seemed to give up. Once again the "cuddle" method of tackle was employed and once Tring saw they could run at us without being put down that's exactly what they did putting in 6 or 7 unanswered tries.
During the second half fitness played a factor, a lot of the team just gave up running; I know it was cold and wet but....
Harry "The Tank" Scully continues to impress with great strength running forward and never giving up in defense - Forwards Man of the match scoring both tries.
Simeon was solid in the front row and managed to hook some against the head, also running strong with ball in hand. Upset to lose but nothing to be ashamed of with his performance.
The centre pairing of Harrison and Sam worked really well today, I was most impressed with both of them, the line speed and tackling in the face resulted in lots of ground gained; good linking between them running forward also. it was hard to decide between the two for Backs man of the match. Sam edged the award for some aggressive tackling in the second half. Well done to both.
We could have won the match with better tackling and more aggression/desire. This is something we can't coach, tackling we can work on.
keep it up boys we are moving in the right direction
Final score 8 or 9 to 2 (Lost)
