The second of our matches against Hemel Hempstead (Camelot) was expected to be another tough affair following our tight cup victory the week prior

For the first ten minutes or so it was looking to
be the case, with rapid exchanges of points... leaving us just in
front...
Our pack was utterly dominant in the scrums, (akin to England the day
previous) and we were driving them back and spoiling any good clean
ball that they won... some great marshalling by JK behind the scrum
kept the momemtum up and fed the backs who were able to cut loose
more... Some great forward play set up our first batch of tries scored
by Patrick and Harry, , followed up a powerhouse effort by Matt B
started to put some clear daylight between us and a strong opposition.
We knew their back line was both fast and agressive, however they were
only able to make a few breaks before being overhauled, and our
tackling of their key players was much improved.
However there is still a way to go to make sure that we bring players
down more cleanly without giving them the chance to spread play or
drive further....
After half time we pulled away more comfortably with further breaks
and some good back line plays pushing them deeper into their own
half... Both wingers were active today with some powerful running, and
ably supported by our back row who were all over the pitch...
Nic was a worthy man of the match receipient, and his stand out moment
was the flooring of Camelots danger man who never seemed to recover
from a trade mark tackle... Further tries from the likes of Harry and
Alex put the result beyond doubt, ensured our bonus point for the
victory and now we are one game from finishing in the top two and
securing what will be a great promotion.
One last league game beckons away to Biggleswade for which we need to
win to be 100% certain and with focus on tackling, positonal play, and
line breaking we can go into that match with a high degree of
confidence..
Many thanks to the large turnout of supporters on the sidelines once
again, and we look forward to you all coming to the next and final
league performance...

Tries Dylan, Alex, Matt B, Patrick, Harry D (x2), Nic
