A decisive win away at Old Grammarians puts Fullerians in first place in League 6 with three games to play.

On a wet Sunday morning Fullerians travelled to Old Grammarians with some trepidation, never having played at this ground before. With only 14 players turning up it did not bode to well for them until we were informed that Old Grammarians themselves had suffered a few injuries and were starting light.
To even the sides and make a match of it Fullerians let Neel play for the opposition, making it 13 vs 12 in Fullerians favour. Fullerians started very well, running straight and true. An early try by Fred in the left corner was followed by tries by Joseph Moody, Fin and Aron.
With the bonus point secured Luke Beckley volunteered to bolster the OGs numbers even more, and Fullerians started to lose their structure. Players started to get sucked into rucks and mauls rather than seeking their defensive line, and when in possession started to crab across the pitch. All of this led to a revival by OGs who managed to score 3 tries of their own.
The player advantage was returned to Fullerians at the start of the second half, but the sides were equal again when first Aron and then Josh Cartwright had to take temporary breaks for minor injuries.
With Fullers getting frustrated by the refs decisions and unable to adapt to his interpretation of the breakdown the game remained even for a while until first Aron and the Jamie stretched the lead. A high tackle on William led to a break in play and a rest for Fred, but Fullers went on to win handsomely 46-24, with a brace each for Fin, Aron and Fred backed up with tries from Joe Moody and Jamie.
Well done to all of the players who played for OGs, it was very sporting to make the game more competitive.
And well done to a number of players who played their best games yet for Fullers, including Sam, Liam, Jack Morse and Josh Cartwright to name but a few, William for carrying on after a horrendous high tackle, as well as those who put their hands up for places in the League 2 team.
