Fullerians come good against first opponents of the season.

The match was billed as playing both our teams against both of A and Cs, but in the event they did not have enough players for two teams, so we agreed to play three 25 games, with our development team playing the middle fixture.

The opening game was a close encounter, with Fullerians taking the lead with an unconverted try out on the right touchline, before A and C managed to put together some sustained pressure and break through the middle of our defence and score under the posts to take a 7-5 lead.
The game was fairly even for the last 5 minutes until Jayden turned on the afterburners to scorch clear of the defence, and it looked to all intent and purpose as if he would dot down in the same place as Fullerians first try. But in an attempt to cut back in side and find more defenders to beat he was held up just short of the line.

In the second game Fullerians fielded a much changed line up, with a lot of new faces to the club. A and Cs greater teamwork and continuity paid dividends as Fullers struggled to get any early continuity. A and C were quickly 3 tries up, when Fullers started to put a few moves together and get their defensive line in shape. A great break on the right wing ended with some unexplained juggling by one of our centres, and A and C turned the ball over and scored again against the out of position Fuller's defence. Final score 28-0.

The third game was all Fullers, with A and C unable to maintain possession against strong tackling. Fullers started to correct their early mistakes at the breakdown and started to stretch the A and C defence, going over twice near the posts. Further pressure led to the best of their three tries, an exquisite chip from Ed Short being taken on the full by Josh Dawood to score the final try. 19-0 to Fullers

With the second game being a development team game Fullers are happy to claim a 24-7 aggregate win. Well played everyone in the squad.
