Score flatters Cheshunt as Fullers fail to take advantage of territorial dominance.

Fullers faced Cheshunt in a rearranged League 2 fixture. Fullers knew that this was going to be a tough fixture, Chestnut having come down from League 1 last year, and the game started with a familiar story as Fullers gave them a 5-0 lead. Chestnut recycled the ball a number of times before getting the ball out to their outside centre who broke away to score the first try of the game.
Fullers resounded well and put Chestnut under a lot of pressure, harrying their players into lots of handling mistakes. A penalty n their 5m line was finally spun out to Finlay Horastead on the left wing who went over to level the scores.
Fullers failed to make their pressure count, and Cheshunt counter attacked when a penalty kick failed to make touch and Fullers hadn't followed up. A few phases of play later and Cheshunt went over again.
Chestnut started to use their driving line out to good effect, and Fullers gave away a number of penalties as the pressure told. One driving line out was held up over the line, but just as it looked as though Fullers wee going to clear their lines a kick was charged down and Chestnut managed to run the ball in for another try.
Fullers started the second half camped in the Chestnut 22, but failed to take advantage of a number of penalties until the ball was spun wide and Jayden went over for another try. It looked like this was time for Fullers to kick on, but they could not convert pressure into points, and Chestnut broke away to score a fourth try. Fullers now went in search of another score to get the losing bonus point, but in playing from their own half gave the ball away again to allow Chestnut over for a fifth and final try to give them a flattering win.
Fullers performance was very good despite the score, and on another day they would have won this game. As always you learn more from defeats than victories, and Fullers certainly learnt;
1. You need to keep the defensive line speed on for the entire game and not relax at any point,
2. You need to score the points when you have the opportunity.
Overall a good game with some excellent performances from all involved.
