Double win as both 1s and 2s travel to Welwyn like the old days.

Fullers 2nd xv were very grateful to Welwyn for the match after their league fixture against Hemel 2nd xv was cancelled.

The game started with both teams in good mood and full of enthusiasm. From the kick off Welwyn put their bigger forwards to good use by running directly in the heart of the fullers pack. This prompted a quick responses from Fullers 2s and when they got their hands on the ball they decided to run the ball at every opportunity to move the Welwyn pack around the park. This paid dividends when a long clearance kick allowed Fullers back three of Beak, Kelly and Turner to stretch their legs in attack. Two phases and some nice interplay gave Beak some space to beat two defenders to go over for the first score which was converted by Dawson.

Two minutes later they combined again with Turner feeding Beak who offloaded out of contact to Kelly who evaded his opposite winger with a superb running line to feed back inside to Beak to go over for his second of the match.

Welwyn fought back into the game with good interplay between forwards and backs to create pressure on the Fullers defensive line. The line was eventually broken and Welwyn scored a well deserved try to end the half 14-5 to Fullers.

The second half saw Fullers extend their lead by a third score that saw fly-half Ollie Dawson beat three defenders with an individual piece of brilliance that took the game beyond Welwyn.
