Fullerians U14s Girls got their Bucks Invitational League campaign off to a great start with a big win over Chinnor. Unfortunately, the visitors had been hit by some late withdrawals but with the help of some keen Fullierians made sure the first full 15 aside game could be experienced by both teams – proper rugby values on display throughout. It was great to see another Fullerians debutant, Elin, making an impact in the game.
The game got off to a frantic start with tries from Berynne and Lily O, following some strong carries from both locks Liv and Isla. More tries from Ruby and Emilie T took us to the break.
A strong set piece and tenacity at the ruck saw Fullerians continue the momentum with more tries coming from Pluto (2) and Sorcha, and more coming from Berynne and Emilie T.
The kicking also proved a highlight of the day with lots of extra points coming from the magical boots of Lily O and Ruby.
Some special mentions to Morgan for keeping continuity and speed of play at scrum half, and Lucy settling well into the 12 position with strong runs throughout the match.
Excellent performances on display throughout the team with Freya being awarded forward of the week, and Nancy back of the week. Rugby was the winner as all the girls left the field with big smiles and new friends!
We now have a training week before heading to the RAF Halton 10s on the 9th October.
