Furies lose 50-0 in final scheduled fixture of the season.

Seeking vengeance for their Good Friday loss, Biggleswade came back at the Furies with full force. Sunday's game was a fight to the end. Mistakes were made and learned from, and although there were a few opportunities for a try, the majority of the match required defensive skill and stamina.

Putting their bodies on the line for their first ever full match were forward Ann Marie and back Saffron, as well as Sarah and Nikki from Cheshunt. Nikki also received Forward of the Match. Back of the Match was Amy, who try as she might, could not get a lucky break. Zoe of Harpenden also received a nomination for throwing herself into both front and back lines. We also would like to extend our gratitude to Biggleswade for loaning out players due to our short numbers and injuries.

While there was some disappointment at the 50-0 loss, the final result does not reflect the efforts made on pitch. The ladies played their hearts out until the final whistle in spite of the poundings the Furies took from a very physical and experienced opposition. Of the game, Captain Nikki stated, "We will lick our wounds for a bit...and from where we were in September at Hackney to now, we should be very proud of our development..."

We are excited to see what the next season will bring, and would like to thank everyone for the support that they have shown us throughout the season. The team would especially like to thank Coach Craig Sweetlove for the work he has put into creating a more solid and confident team.

The ladies will be starting the off season with a 7s tournament in Barnes on 21st April, followed by an Inner Warrior session this Sunday, 22nd April at 1 PM
