starting soon.....

Hi all

I have been working with the RFU on a Return to Rugby Programme. This is essentially aimed at getting more players for our 4th team, but hopefully as it develops, all sides throughout the club can benefit with increased numbers.

So, one of the numerous strands to this initiative will be the running of a number of touch rugby sessions throughout the close season, starting on Wednesday 6th June.

There will be at least three games going on.

Touch game for the 1’s/2’s players and anyone else who want to join in that one
Touch game for any other adults and those 16+, who may find this game more to their level
Touch game for the ladies and girls.

People can play in which ever game they feel the most comfortable in.

Once the summer training sessions start on Tuesdays and Thursday, we will be running a separate session on Tuesdays aimed at any new players who may not feel able to take part in the 1’s/2’s level of training and any current players who would prefer this session.
Coaching is being arranged for this group, but it will include Harry Harrison from the RFU. Again, players can chose which session they would prefer.

The Wednesday touch sessions will continue throughout the summer, as long as there are enough people interested, mainly to try to entice newer players to the game.

The hope is that this initiative will shared amongst all of your friends, inviting them to come and have a go as well as ex-players who fancy a run out and joining in. There will also be social media advertising and flyers handed out at local train stations.

By having the three touch sessions initially, it is hoped this will encourage a broad spectrum of people to come and give it a go if they haven’t played before or haven’t for some time.

If every player whether male or female, encourages their friends/partners/parents or siblings to play, or if we get a good take up through the other planned activities, all teams at Fullers can benefit from this programme.

I will add more nearer the time but for now, please put Wednesday 6th June 7.30pm in your diary

Regards

Jeff
